Picked this up from a guy on Craigslist a few weeks ago.

As far as I can tell from researching, it was made by a company here in San Diego for FAO Schwarz stores in the mid 80's.

Those were sold all over the place back in the day- not just FAO Schwarz. I recall seeing them advertised in Roundel and some other car mags. Still very cool to find one in good condition.

I have one in red :) Except its a 1987 325is complete with the is airdamn and rear spoiler. I've had it since I was about 2. I actually remember my parents buying it for me at a kaybee toys in Myrtle beach. I guess it was fate for me to own a real one!
