Car came with a 'custom burn' chip that has no markings on it. Any ideas on how or what I could do to find out exactly what this chip is and what it does? Stock ECU chip came with the car.

Yea, you have to pull out the ECU from on top the glove box and open it up to see.:: PNW Crew ::

how do you know it came with a chip with no markings on it if you havent even opened up the ECU? this is like the 2nd thread where you stated one thing, and then asked how to do the same thing you said you already had done.
BTW: use the damn tech threads for this stuff, this aint no general discussion.IG: @Baye30

Would you rather I just go away? The PO gave me a detailed overview of the entire car. What was LIKE the other thread where I've stated one thing and then asked how to do the same thing? How old are you anyway?how do you know it came with a chip with no markings on it if you havent even opened up the ECU? this is like the 2nd thread where you stated one thing, and then asked how to do the same thing you said you already had done.

I just found an empty Bavarian Autosport package with a 2.5L chip sticker on it. I'm assuming that the unknown chip is probably this BavAuto chip. Does anyone have experience with the BavAuto chip over the stock chip? Is it worth keeping in or put stock back in?
Thanks for all who care to read and be respectful to a new e30 owner trying to get his bearingsComment

Keep the chip, it advances the timing giving your more power.:: PNW Crew ::
