    So I just ditched Geocities

Anybody know any hosting service that is good? I want to get my site back up, but not really into using Geocities again. Thanks

www.freewebs.com I wont say that they are good, if you are going to use it for pic hosting, dont, but for making a site, I dont know weather or not it will work for you.

I can speak personally for the technology because i'm one of their sysadmins. Everything is pretty solid except for the mail which has occasional issues (sometimes a little slow). The issues are getting better and we're slowly getting them resolved. Some people complain about the slightly older version of PHP we run, but that's about to change pretty soon.

As for the technology, we run a cluster of 30 webservers, extremely high-availibility back-end storage, a cluster of 15 mail servers, and plenty of bandwidth. You'll get shared SSL access, a gig of disk space, 100GB transfer, Mysql, and tons more.

        all for $8 a month.
