    TCD 325i Drag Results

    60 2.227
    330 5.851
    1/8 8.827
    mph 83.61
    1/4 13.59
    mph 102.71

The car performed well. A couple issues kept it from doing much better. I had to launch nice and easy due to the stock clutch and I dialed a little too much ignition timing in and had to shift out of 3rd gear at 5500rpm instead of 6400rpm. The car should have run 106/107mph but fell on it's face in 4th gear.

....congrats on the first trial run. When are you going to run again with the issues sorted? How come you're on the stock clutch system? What times are you aiming for now that you have a baseline?

Good times for weak tire setup. No wheels have shown up yet at my place yet for the 5er yet either.

Nice times, 12s shouldn't be a problem with a better launch and running out 3rd to 6400. :)

We'll probably be back in 3 weeks. I am taking the 5er to a meet in AL next week.

I'll replace the clutch when I have a chance.

Nice times..put a clutch, big flex disk, tranny output flange and front driveshaft
            in it.....should be good for 1.90 60's

Just in case you have'nt seen the following:

            8.827 / 5.851 = 1.508 (Rate of Acceleration)

            8.827 x 1.508 = 13.32 potential (assuming same rate of acceleration)

            (1.25) for 1/8 to 1/4 speed conversion.

I went today as well, only got 2 runs in, the best was:

                60' 2.583
                330 6.500
                1/8 9.495
                MPH 83.12
                1000' 12.078
                1/4 14.226
                MPH 105.11

Wheelspin killed me today, 1 and 2nd gears, a 3.25 diff would have SERIOUSLY helped the 60ft. 1/10 in the 60ft is about equal to 2/10 in the quarter.

While i was there, i saw a Dodge Ram run a 10 sec 1/4 on slicks, it was maxing out his 80psi boost gauge. I also saw several Hayabusa race bikes.. wow

Wow very nice results. If I ever go with FI, I might just go with TCD.

I gotta learn about FI first tho :P

I'm sure some wider/stickier tires would help out a bunch, too. You need some 245s out back.

Nope, I was running 215/60/14 drag radials. The 60s will be much better when I am ready to launch it hard!

Hey Mitch! One of these days I'll get one of these BMWs into the 1s. At least I am playing in the mid 13s these days instead fo the mid 14s.
