What car to buy... in europe :-)

So, i'm moving back to europe and for many $ reasons i am not bringing my e46 :-/

so.. i'll have roughly 8k euro to spend on a car (taxes included)
My choices so far:
Alfa 147 JTD

Alfa 156

320d Touring

318 late model "Special" Touring (one of the few 4cyl that come with a/c and mtech color cloth seats) with a M42 swapped- remember these are 143hp and sport a single mass flywheel, so they are more potent as american units.


For tax and gas costs, i really have to keep it below 2.0l displacement diesel or 1.8 petrol. My main uses for the car are weekend trips with my GF, commuting to school and driving to and back from brussels (10 hour trip)

Also, remember that if i get the BMW it'd have to be an older one w/ many miles, and if i get the alfa i can get a newer one, etc.

316 m40 or a m42 variant to save on fuel. 1.32E per liter is a bitch or for that matter look at the E36 in small displacement.

As you know driving in Europe is more country driving the more you get away from the cities so it not like the US and with roundabout or rotaries traffic does not come to a snarl at every 4 way intersection.
