IS sport seats, backening loose...

Hey I was hoping the guys w/ IS sport seats could help me here. I have the cloth sport seats and today when I was getting sititng in the back, I pulled the chair back and the black plastic back on the back of the IS seat came loose on one side. How are they held on?

Has this happened to anyone else?

this would be better in tech so hopefull a mod will move it but....


The top of the back is loosely held on by metal clips that go over a crossbar and release when the back is pushed up on. The bottom is held on with two small screws that are visible only from down near the floor. THen the handles pull off and the surround pops out from teh bottom and then rotates up to release the surround. Then if need be the metal outside handles can be removed with a small flathead by looking in the slot.

On mine one of the clips managed to come off and fall out allowing the back to slide. They are not even attached to seat backing, just clipped into a metal base.
