    M3 dream?

Kind of a cool story. I was talking with a guy I met at a local diner today and we got to talking about cars, and then to BMW's. He was telling me how his father is REALLY into BMW's and has this really nice tiled garage with this and that. Not too mention all these parts laying around. I told him how I was looking for a right front strut housing from an e30 M3 and he said that his father has two (L&R) of them with less than 200 miles. I was like - no way! Does he want to sell them? He smiled - I doubt it...he still has them on the car.

So I ask - wait...the car has less than 200 miles on it? Is it wrecked? huh? No, he says...it is new, and the only marks on the car are from the blocks it has been on since 1988. He showed me a pic on his camera phone, and told me if I am ever down NJ way to stop in. Man - I was so jealous.

What the hell is the point of having a nice car and just sitting on it. It is like spending every night with your dream girl and never giving it to her!

Yep, this confirms it. People from NJ really are fucking wierd. Sounds like a kick ass story tho. I wonder if it actually is real. That car would be worth a ton of money now. 88 m3 with 200 miles. Sweet.

I thought the lowest documented car in that states was that lady owned black one with 5K miles on the clock that she won't sell for less than 35K?

you know, when cars arent run, it ruins all the seals and stuff. so you would have to replace all the crap. its worthless, unless he runs it every week.

not even close to worthless. 200 miles on the body, interior, and frame? yeah its worthless alright.

its true that lack of use will rot the seals and other such things. happened to my best friends 1992 chevy dually with only 20k miles on it. it sat for years where they might have only driven it once a month. still wasn't enough use. cars really have to be prepped/taken care of for long term storage i think.

if that car was driven as much as you guys think it should be, then noone would talk about it.

call it a waste if you want, but in another 20 years, people will be fighting like no tomorrow for that car.

the same reason I dont drive mine much too. it has 120,00 km on it just over 70,000 miles, and it hasnt been driven more that 1500 miles in the last 8 years, but we will see what mine is worth, VS one that is driven like you guys think.
I own my M3, and it is enough for me to just look at it--
