He's also stacked up quite a few of the other GB parts to go with it, paying attention/obesession to making sure they are authentic if not damn near.

We actually met a Lufthansa Kapitan (Airbus A340) at a hotel once while he was on a layover to purchase the airplane strobes used on the bumper. Was a very cool experience. He collects aviation memorabilia...

Wow, how strange I happened onto this...had a 1964 Caddy S&S Hearse back in Iowa in the 80's and ended up selling it to a guy who was going to take it on trips to California. He worked for the railroad I remember. Bought it in 1980 with 13K miles on it and of course it was immaculate. Weighed like 7200 lbs, 22 ft long, 429 with a four speed automatic and Wunderbar radio. Real clean looking too--no landau roof, nice grey curtains and lots of shiny chrome and black paint. That thing was crazy fun--we pulled up to the local head shop one day which just happened to be next to a Salvation Army Senior Center, and a couple of old guys out front asked us if Mr. Johnson had passed away--and we got the giggles so bad it was embarrassing. I'll post a photo later...

i love 'professional cars' from back around then. The quality of work that they put into building the custom bodies often surpassed what the factory did.

At least you got it running. now only 500,000 other little things to do

Nasty. My buddy saw the real one (Ecto 1) when he went to George Barris' collection in Indiana. It was for sale for about $150,000 if I remember correctly.

My friend went there to buy the Mirth mobile from Wayne's World. He scored it for around $12k.
