    windshield?

If i have a replacement windshield for my e30, is it possible to take the old one out and install the new one myself?

mods will prolly move this to another area but yes.... and maybe no. I have switched a few older (1970's) windshields by my self with the help of a few others. Pretty sure that the e30 has the same locking strip type gasket. Just takes patience and patience....

Get the right tool. Soak the gasket in warm water before you do the install and don't force or push. it'll go easily. oh & silicone the sh*t out of the corners

I suggest taking it to a professional. Installing a windshield is not an easy task. Plus, if you fuck it up yourself, you're screwed. If they fuck it up, they have to pay for it. ;)

Many times they wont pay for it if you did not buy the windshield from them. Make sure you ask.

the front windshield is a piece of cake if you have a good seal. the rear is more difficult.

The old one comes out much easier than the new one goes in. I have had much success, however, when I used WD40. It evaporates quickly so once the windshield is in, it holds pretty well. Anything else other than WD40 will probably retain its lubricating properties causing the windshield to come loose and/or leak.
