What do you guys use to plug the hole in the grill on the driver side since there is no more wiper arm there?

The RHD grille covers the hole with an OEM piece. I bought one a few days ago, covers the hole nicely, but there is still a small indent there. 51-13-1-904-573 is the part number. I don't think they have one that is smoothed completely like the passenger side grille (on US cars).

        As promised:

        51-13-1-904-573 RHD Top
        51-13-1-904-572 LHD Below

EDIT: The other side is completely smoothed on LHD cars for some reason, there is no bump whatsoever...odd.

Yeah I'm sure you could, but this is the OEM piece, and its pretty cheap (I think it was $12).

I want mine smoothed completely, who knows maybe I'll do it and hit it with SEM spray.

I don't think that will work. At least not if you are using a modified stock assembly.
The wiper assembly still needs to bolt onto the body. Even if you cut off the splined part that the wiper arm attaches too, the nut is still there bolting the assembly to the body that will prevent you from getting the grill completely flat.
At least that's what I've gathered so far playing with the wiper assembly in my M3. I could be wrong though.

I don't know how the aftermarket monowiper kits mount though so I can't say anything about them...

The bonrath kit comes with a trim plug for the hole. I sent that grille back with the kit but I found similar plugs at autozone. I used one for the center hole(now body color) and for the grille, which I sanded and trim-sprayed black. Looks OEM enough for me. ;)

Yeah, pretty much looks, but I had a bonrath setup on my 97 GTI VR6 and it was actually a great deal more functional.

with a modified stock wiper linkage that piece won't fit, it doesn't allow room for the bolt access. In order to use taht piece, you must entirely modify the linkage different that removes that section like xLibelle did (i think that was his name). I modified a stock piece that basically made a big round bubble that covered the spot.

oh here is a pic you can kinda see it

Good to know, I wonder if other mono-wiper kits will allow it to fit correctly, since they all seem to come with new wiper linkages.
