On teh actual sunroof panel? Or, on the actual top of the car (not on the sunroof panel)

    On sunroof panel:

One the actual roof of car:

its on the corners of the roof, where the sunroof fits in. Its about a nickel size in both corners.

The only advice I could give you would to be keep looking. Its also about the rust you can't see. If you can see rust on the roof, theres no telling if its eating the car from the inside out in other places.

I wouldn't classify $3100 for a 318is with rust spots a "steal" but I could see it is a fair price otherwise. If you do decide you want this car, make sure you give it a thorough inspection, inside the wheel wells, in the engine bay, under the car, etc. Look for any other spots of rust. But keep your eyes out, you’ll find the car you want.

Texas isn't really that big of a rust bucket, is it? (like MN is?)

That car must have some history, cause I've never personally seen rust in near the sunroof - maybe one of the drains got clogged or something?

Rust is a frickin car disease, it'll eat thru everything before you know it. Repairing it is only temporary I think.

Yeah, I'm gonna look at it again tommorrow. Is there a drain for the sunroof? Pretty sure its a tx car so rust won't spread as quickly.

Yeah, there's a drain. I'm not positive where, unfortunately.

It must have been somewhere else though, that rust wouldn't have formed in the first place in Texas.

Don't buy that car. My e30 has rust and it sucks. With so many e30's out there i would keep looking.

The drain holes are in the front of the sunroof opening (front of the car) in each corner.

My sun roof has rust bubbles. It sucks.

                            Sold it.
