    Introduction

Not much of a welcome wagon over at Bimmerforums; thought I’d drop an introduction here.

    I bought 325i vert’s 1990 325i, previously Digitalwave’s. :D

First of all, I’d like to extend some kudos to Josh for a very smooth transaction. Josh was kind enough to drive the car from Chattanooga to Charlotte for the PPI and purchase. I’m very glad we did.

During the PPI/purchase, the water pump, timing belt and tensioner, oil level sensor, and vented air box were replaced, along with various other OEM brackets and cable holds, etc. I put some spring pads on both top and bottom perches in the rear to alleviate the rubbing at least until I get the H&Rs installed [see to do list below]

My plan is to keep it reliable and understated for use as a DD and an occasional DE car. The car by and large is in pretty decent shape, and I’m happy with current level of maintenance and whatnot, but I’d like to make it a little more OEM and comfy.

I’ve started documenting the project HERE

I’ve got a laundry list of things to work on in the coming months. I hope by lurking here, r3v, and e30tech, I’ll be able to find what I need. Here’s the short list:
    • H&R Sport springs; currently too low/stiff
    • 3.73 LSD; better gas mileage
    • Fix shifter; notchy to shift, but loose in gear; go OEM?
    • Fix door dings
    • Remove green dye in engine bay; ?
    • Sunroof needs adjusting and/or new gaskets
    • Rewire fog lamps; cut, trashed
    • Replace underbelly plastic trays and brake ducting; missing
    • Swap instrument cluster; US for Euro
    • Shoot driver front fender lips to prevent rust
    • Alignment; toed out badly in front
    • Get front and back seats recovered;
    • New steering wheel; replace Momo [do you have a M-TI or II? PM me]
    • Install stereo + speakers
    • Proper hose clamps
    • Refinish strut bar
    • HID kit

          Thanks all.

Its not a very good recover job. I bought an extra set from Josh and will likley do some black vinyl and faux suede coverings for front and rear.

            Welcome to R3V, dex.

I too love that car. Are you happy with the mirrors from a "using" standpoint?

If you are going that far with an already nice car, definately post your progress!

Actualy, I'm trying to swap the mirrors out for some stock units, but like you said, most aren't willing to give up the useability by going with these. I may just have to find some at my local parts yard.

I try to document most upgrades, even if its only a few pictures. Link

Welcome. those mirrors are expensive if I recall. Don't get taken.
Always loved the car, it actually is one of the original cars that got me into e30s.
                    Yours truly,
                    Rich

Congrats on the car, I'm glad to see it went to a good home!

I see the cage and CF sunroof have been removed. Did you buy it without those things? While I don't agree with the direction of some of your mods, I can tell this car will be well cared for which is great. It's pretty famous around here, haha.

Thanks. Josh was kind enough to remove the cage and reinstall the interior for me before he delivered it, but he did include the CF sunroof piece.

I am not sure how to proceed with that piece since I understand the OEM gaskets don’t work very well with it, and I can’t imagine any other options, unless I try sourcing something from McMaster-Carr; that’s lower on the priority list right now though.

I can appreciate your other sentiment; I can assure you it will be well taken care of. :)
