difference between euro and post 88 US headlights?

i'm goin to get new headlights... need to know some info. pics would help. Basically i dont know much about e30 headlights... except that the post 88 US ones had that ellipsoid thing. Sorry for my ignorance, but headlights was the last thing on my mind till this point. Some prices fro used ones would help... thanks. -Dave

Both are projectors but the Euros have a cutoff that goes above the horizon on the passenger side. They also have a citylight which is like an integrated parking light. The smile at the bottom does very little.

They also used an undiffused H1 so they are very bright

You could get H4's. They don't cost too much but they put out lots of light.
