    floggin a e46 m3

So i go to drop some nology plug wires off at my buddies house and there is a black 03 m3.. Well of course i become 14 years old again and start foaming at the mouth hehe.. My buddy says let me through the plug wires in the house real quick and when he came out he threw me the key to the car :) he said i dont expect to see you for about 45mins and if your gone for more than 6 hours im gonna report it stolen ahha cause i knew u wrapped it around a pole and ran away ::) Needless to say im in love.. im currently trying to figure out how im gonna get one :)

lol You suck! Definitely my favorite M3, or maybe a close second to an e30 M3 (haven't driven either, so...)

The e46 M3 is a phenomenal car. Definitely a blast to drive. The one I drove was lowered on H&R Races according to my friend, but with stock shocks I believe. The damn thing was so bouncy at times.

A couple of annoyances though, were the gas and brake pedal feel. The brakes were too responsive for my liking, but then again, I was coming from the e30. I drove both cars back to back, so going from a fully mechanically operated vehicle to an electronically operated vehicle can take some getting used to.

The other annoyance was the throttle. I think it was electronically controlled. In sport mode, that damn thing is too sensitive. Fun, but didn't feel like it was good stress for the chassis. I did appreciate the crispness of the throttle though. I want ITBs if it will give me that feel.

This is not what I need to hear.

I keep hoping that someone will tell me that they're overrated and that I should just get an E36.

            I'm gonna be so poor.

I love the way my girlfriend's 330 ZHP drives. I imagine the e46 m3 is even more fun.

If the new diesels suck, I might have to get one of those instead.

If it makes you feel better the E46 M3 vert I drove left me unimpressed, I like the E36 M3 better. I still need to drive a tin top E46 though, I think the weight reduction would help out my opinion :)

even though they are awesome cars, they are still so "poseur" here in california. it seems like everyone who is reasonably successful in the bay area drives an E46 M3. for example I was at the olympic club in san francisco last weekend and there was about 6 M3's there, 4 S500's, etc.

In terms of fun to drive smile factor, all M3s deliver.

After owning an E46 M3 for some time now, I find I appreciate it a lot more after driving around my E30s.

I respect the E36 M3 and all but I HATE the styling of it for some reason. Pretty much the only BMW where I can't stand any of the styling for some reason.

Right now, I'm trying to figure out if an E92 M3 or 997s will be in my future if I decide to sell the E46.

Not in cinci. Still, part of me feels like it would be selling out.

I just am kind of sick of the old used car game, would be nice to have one that has a lot of the fun stuff done already from the factory, maybe just needs some coils and an exhaust.

Would def still be keeping the E30.

They're fun cars. The dealership I worked for had an '02 cab for a while and it was my errand car whenever the boss was out. She always wondered how the odometer kept climbing without anyone taking it for test drives....

E46 m3 is a nice car for sure. Like said before... in sport mode, the throttle is wayyyyyy too sensitive. It also still feels like a big porky car to me. Nice car... but I would get a hella nice e36 m3 and supercharge it before I got an e46 m3.
