    May be selling the e30......

Most of the people here have seen my car and know what's up with it. Nothing special, just a clean e30 that will make a great car for any driver.

My reason for selling is not by choice. This past saturday morning on the way to work at 5:30 in the morning, I dozed off behind the wheel in my dad's pickup. I basically missed a sweeping left hand turn and ran off the road about 65mph. Luckily I hit a ditch before the truck collided head on with a 90foot swamp maple. Someone behind me stopped and woke me up( I never woke upl during the accident) and i looked around like I didn't know what the fuck was goin on. I got out of the car and looked around. The chassis of the truck was bent where the bed and cab meet and the entire front end was done as the truck rested on the tree. Ambulance came, I told them I was fine and they left. I called my dad to come get me and when he got there he insisted he take me to the ER. I walked in on my own but as soon as I walked in they layed me out on a strecher I passed out.

I wake up and am told by a doctor that I have a broken back and have broken my jaw in 2 places. I fractured my T-12 vertabrete which is apparently near the bottom of my ribcage and my jaw is broken on the right side by my canine tooth and then again up near my mouth joint. I just got home from the hospital yesterday, i have my mouth wired shut and a backbrace that looks something like those Roman armor things( my buddies already took the liberty of drawing on pecs and abs).

So now my mom wants me to get a safer car since I probly would have been mangled in the e30. I'm trying to keep it but i'm not sure if i'll be able to afford to keep 2 cars since I won't be working for at least 2 months. I'lll post up some pics I have around and let you guys know when it's deffinately got to go.

      Dang man, that's terrible.

      Glad your ok.

My friend was kind of in the same situation - he collided witha pole new yeears eve as the ice made him lose control. When he came back to consciousness, he felt fine. It wasn't until later that his injuries took effect, and he finally began to hurt. Adreneline does some crazy stuff.

About the safety - I consider E30's some really safe cars. I guess it all depends on what you compare it to.

Again, glad your ok, and hope you have a smooth recovery. :)

Man thats some amazing story. Glad to hear you made it out alive.

As far as car safety is concerned, a side impact at 65+ mph with an inmoveable object will render any car unsafe.

I wish you a speedy recovery.

Wow, crazy story! Glad you're still here, hope you get better soon!

As far as an e30 being safe, my friend recently fell asleep at the wheel in his 91 318is while driving on the freeway, he fell asleep, cut right, hit a street light pole and a couple smaller trees and JUMPED off and hit the guardrail that's on the onramp right there. After all of that, he walked away with just minor neck pain, he is fine now and the hospital checked him out. My point to that story is... E30's are VERY safe cars.

I know right. Guess that's the risk I run working 2 jobs to afford to go to school.

I realize that e30's are solid cars, I mean I flipped one and walked away(not my fault). It's just you can't beat technology in high quality new cars. I have poured alot of my assets from the last few summers into getting my car to where it is now, it would be a shame to let it go, but if mom isn't happy, nobody is.
