    zinno paint question

    I purchased a bumper to replace mine which was cracked/broken when I bought it. I've sanded it, primered, sanded again, and primered again. It is now ready for paint. Here's my question:

    Is the zinno acrylic single stage paint? Do they clearcoat this color? I'm wondering which paint I need and if I need to clearcoat it once I've sprayed it.

    Thanks in advance.

    The factory Zinno paint is single stage, but most people do a base clear when they shoot it again because it is easier (IMHO) and last longer.

      +1. I just repainted my valance/lip etc with a can of basecoat I bought online. Then I topped it with clear.

        brandon, who did you buy your paint from?

        Is the paint code 138? I tried towerpaint.com but their online shopping doesn't seem to work. I was going to use automotivetouchup.com but thought I'd wait to see what your experience was and with whom.

        TIA

          How good of a job do you think can be done using a spray can and lots of caution? On something like a bumper.

            I also went with automotivetouchup because I couldn't find what I was looking for on towerpaint. Their site is very easy to use, and the color matched my car pretty well. I see a VERY slight difference in my valance/lip and the rest of the car, but perhaps it's because the rest of the car wasnt as clean as it could've been.

            As for the primer and clearcoat, I wouldn't order it from them because there are plenty of local places to get that from (and at a cheaper price). I plan on painting my plastic bumper with the same product. I was happy with the results on my valance/lip

            zinnoberot = 138
