    I-5 Motors and Terry Schramm.

I know that quite a few of the members on here live in the PacNW, so I just wanted to take the time to talk about this place... Most of the time we hear about how dealerships are only out to screw people over, and the salesman only care about making their money. I have to say that I honestly have felt the same on numerous previous occasions at other dealers. My experience at I-5 Motors, however, was much different.

I stopped by I-5 Motors in Fife, WA with my dad a couple of weeks ago, while my fiance had her baby shower. We figured we would head out to the Fife area and test drive some cars, just to see what was fun and if anything caught our interest. I was looking for a more family friendly car for my fiance, since she had been driving a 91' VW Cabriolet... And as much fun as it is, it isn't the right car to be driving every day with a baby in the back.

We stopped at I-5 Motors, got out of the car, and actually had a moment to look around before Terry was coming out the door. We weren't instantly rushed by the blood hungry salesman like we had been at the BMW dealership down the road. He walked up, introduced himself and asked if we needed any help. We said we were just kind of looking, and proceeded to also tell him the reasons why. He shared with me that he also had a child, and he knew where I was coming from... Being a younger father, and wanting my future wife and baby to be safe. He took the time to walk us through EVER CAR ON THE LOT that met what we were looking for. It had to be automatic, it had to be 4 door, and it had to be safe. He ended up showing us a black 2002 Volvo s40 2.4T, which turns out to be exactly what I was looking for. He helped me get the best deal possible on the car, and took the time to sit down and talk through all of the warranty's that they offer through their dealership. He didn't push us into anything, and if anything was the most laid back, calm minded, and professional salesman I have ever dealt with.

Not only was Terry a great person to work with, but the owner was there that day... And he actually took the time to sit down and talk some with my dad. He HELPED with explaining the warranty to us, and even took the time to talk some with my dad about his new Harley.

Moving forward a couple of weeks...

Today I stopped by my dad's house to check if any mail has come in for me. Since I live in an apartment, I have many more important things sent to his house since I know he isn't moving any time soon. What I found in the mail was a $40 Gymboree(baby store) gift card from Terry, wishing us the best with the baby this month and saying thanks again.

I can honestly say that this is the best I have ever been treated by any dealership I have ever been to, and I would reccomend I-5 Motors to anyone.

Congrats. Sounds like a wonderful experience. I wont be able to buy anything at any kind of dealership for several years...but I will keep them in mind when I am ready.

Haha. I can't tell if you're being serious or sarcastic...

But in my experience, the salesman are not bad people... They just don't go out of their way to help you. Terry did.

                I dont like salesmen.
Today i stopped by a used car dealer just to look at a FC3S that they had sitting on their lot. when i first pulled up the guy didnt come to help us, then when he did he tried to put me in an EVO or WRX when i already told him all i wanted to see was the rx7. He asked me what i wanted for my car if I were to trade it and then he tried to make it sould like he had a buyer all lined up and told me he would give me exactly what i wanted for it, today (bullshit). then I told him that I already looked at all the cars on the lot, and nothing interested my but the rx7, when I finally gave him so guidelines for what I wanted I told him rear wheel drive, manual, fun to drive and under $5000. He tries to put me in a $9000 front wheel drive, automatic nissan altima.

I didnt even get to drive the rx7 in the end.

Funny, I used to go down to I-5 motors when I was in high school just to look at the cars. They weren't quite as nice, but I would expect that. They knew I wasn't going to buy anything.

It's funny... Because I've gone out to numerous BMW dealerships over the last couple of months, and quite a few times the salesman will walk out and see how young I look... And they walk back inside. It's definitely offending, and because of that I will never buy a car from those places.

Is BMW Northwest the one in Fife right next to I-5 motors? I had a bad experience there too.

If you are in the PNW and want to buy a BMW buy from BMW Seattle. I have delt with them a couple times and they are great, not pushy, etc. Never bought anythere there, but looking at cars they have always been friendly, helpful, and really just wanting to get you in a car that you actually want. They let the BMWs sell themselves.

Now on to I-5 Motors. They are awesome. I have talked with Alex (the owner) quite a few times. He put together the dealership with the idea of having it setup a little like a museum type setting with the cars for sale. Basically a high end dealership where anyone that just wants to check out the cars is more then welcome to just look while being treated like a human. I have stopped quite often to look and the salesman are always happy to just talk without caring that I am 21 and just looking at Ferraris and all. Oh, and Willise30 works as a mechanic for I-5 Motors.
