      Knowing all of this about a fuel cell makes me nervous to drive without one. I am willing to believe that this will be the next major (and somewhat unnecessary) safety feature added to cars. Paranoid soccer moms will buy into it. Even if this raised the cost of the car by $1000, and there were enough scare tactics on TV I am sure people will start ditching their cars and only buying the ones that have a fuel cell in lieu of a standard gas tank.

        they say the pinto was originally designed with an internal rubber bladder, but they got rid of it to keep the cost down, then resulting in rear end fires. As mentioned earlier newer cars have internal bladders.
