question 318i cruise control

i have a 1985 318i and i have the factory cruise control....is this rare????

Not rare but probably an option that the original owner special ordered from the factory when the car was bought new.

yea...my father told me when he bought his he got it....but i thought it was strange ive never seen one with it.....oh well thank you anyway

Yeah. my understanding was that the 318 was intended to be the bottom of the line "bare bones" vehicle that was targeted to young people without a whole lot of money but wanted the status of a beemer. I vaguely recall a TV commercial advertising the 318 back in the 80's where the announcer said, "The 318 is so intense that it only comes with a 5 speed manual"
