I looked into the one for the M30 I just built thinking it would be helpful for my high revving motor, but I decided against it after seeing the stock baffling in the pan and not wanting to spend another $50 on this project.
They are helpful when made right, I know of guys using them in M30's without issues...'88 M3.2 S54 Lachssilber/Black

worth while upgrade if the scraper is made correctly, prevents oil wraping around yoru crank in a kind of "hurricane" which in turns hurts your engine to rev, therfore if you have a scraper. less rotating mass....easier reving engine. scrapers are widely used in domestic racing, haven;t seen many on e30's non the less bmw's....it would be interestinf to see the difference on a m20.
