    engine hiccuping

this is in my e28 535i, the r3v's climb and stop, climb and stop, climb and stop untill im up to about 4k.

for instance it will pull up to 2500, hiccup, climb to 3000, hiccup, climb to 3800, hiccup, then pull fine up to redline.

happens at all throttle ranges, much more noticeable at wot

    any ideas?

I changed the afm, helped a little. it does need a valve adjustment, but its not that bad, i dont think that would effect much.

sounds like it might be a misfire almost. check your plugs and rotor/cap and check your coil.

It does it at the same RPMs all the time? Weird, could be a wonky TPS too with dead spots.

What happens when you just floor it vs. slowly getting up to speed? Same thing at the same RPMs?

Check your TPS, AFM, and definitely check the ignition components.

cap and rotor or a bad lead would certainly cause these symptoms.
