I have to do most of my work in my driveway now, but when I lived in my apartment, we had to do everything at my mom's house in her garage. Our apartment managers wouldn't even let me change the oil in the parking lot.

Major stuff in out garage, and minor stuff in the Driveway. Our 528e has taken up garage for the past year so I've done a 318i tranny change and any work to the 88 325is in the driveway. I did do my clutch change on my 88 in the garage but that was before the E28 died. I do have a decent sized workshop in the back of the garage for parts, engines, and tools.

A good friend of the family, is a great mechanic. He did the Engine swap on my bros El camino, and all his suspension work along with a new tranny. The guy lives around the block from me and he has a full lift in his garage, and he cuts us deals that are rediculously cheap. His daughter owns a 325ic mtech. He has also brought my bros e30 back to life a few times.

For paint work i have a few places where i can go and get good prices. Its good having a dad that was in the car buisness for 30 yrs. Its also good to have a dad who does custom interiors and convertable tops. My top cost me $300. Its a joke. my seats should be getting redone this summer

I like to try to do as much as i can by myself tho. I plan on doing a valve adjustment with my mechanic so that i can learn how to do it right, and i also plan on doing my suspension with him next year.

My dad is the auto mechanics teacher at the highschool here.
I can use his shop whenever I need it.. and if I ask really nice, I can use his slaves also. (muahhahahaha)

Ah, a lot of you guys are lucky! I hope my kids have a place to wrench on their cars.....hmmm, the 3rd car garage with a lift, and tools.

I used to have garage priveledges, but then what started as a valve adjustment grew to trying to replace the rocker arm without taking the head off. My father HATES spilled coolant!

So now it's to the driveway, or uncle's house. Will be spending sometime this summer or during a break next year with subframe bushings, guibo, Z4 shifter, and 3.91 LSD.

With all the people who do most if not all their own stuff, I was curious how and where you could pul it all off.

..I must add that back when I was in NJ, the landlord hated me wrenching and threatened me one time heh heh

I used to sneak to do oil changes but most of the time I ended up wrenching all over the place...the NJ guys who are my buddy's on this site have most likely had me wrench or wash my car over at their place in the past

                        What's wrong with a carport?
Mine is a lot nicer than a bunch of garages.

Yeah, garage at home, and I get yelled at by the landlord at my apartment complex at school.

The garage in my house is where I work on the car now. Before it used to be my dad's warehouse but he doesnt seem to get rid of boxes, so now that thing is 1/2 filled with old boxes and I dont have space to work anymore :?

                              Wait, huh? Kris...hook a brotha up... 8)

For now, I'll be workin in our garage. I'll get some pics of my project up soon. Our third stall is long enough to fit two cars, so my Super Eta is further back, on jackstands, and the parts car, 325is, is parked behind it for now. Gonna get some simple things swapped over, then it's going out to my friends house where I can totally dismantle it, cause my dad doesn't want car parts lying everywhere.

I wish I had a shop, but, a creeper and jackstands will have to do...
