Strong latex gloves and some good Mechanix gloves. These will save you from brushing your fingernails all the time or from pinching or burning yourself. Safety goggles are great, too. I'd hate to get some of those fluids in my eye.

I was about to create a new thread on this, but figured I'd try to bump this one up to get my question answered. On the topic of socket set recommendations, what ranges would you guys suggest?

I currently use a 170+ piece mechanics set I got from Sears back when I was in high school. The set is nice and all, but I have lost several bits and pieces here and there over the years. I want to buy a entirely new socket set for now.

I'd like to know what size ranges to look for when shopping for socket sets. I will want to get three separate sets (1/4, 3/8, 1/2) with nice full ranges of sizes unless I can find a "mechanics set" that has a decent range of sizes in the three varieties.

With that being said, can anyone suggest/recommend a Craftsman set on Sears.com?

I Started with this set and added a nice set of pliers/cutters, screw drivers, vice grips, torque wrench, allen/torx bits and other various things along the way. You can keep things organized and neat which I really like.

after my 5k+ tab on the snap-on/matco trucks i say, get all the speciality tools off a truck, basics from sears. I droped 700.00 with mac for what 300.00 would have got me at sears, but at least I have a nifty chip foose toolbox.

I want a better tool than the "Taco Wrench" I use for inner ball joints.

I love it for 2 reasons: 1. It works. 2. It works because I hit it with a hammer.

I want a 22mm flex head gear wrench. Anyone seen one?
