    Pacific Northwest Crew: a/c question....

Ok, I have no freakin clue about anything related to a/c. I do need to set it up again so I don't die in the heat all summer like last year. Who here up in the Seattle area does a/c work for e30? Mine is not running.

    Any suggestions would be great!

Open the windows, you don't need no stinkin' air conditioning. Seriously, when the a/c died on my 6 coupe the "air conditioning" specialist outfit was no help. They fumbled around with it, charged me up the ying-yang but couldn't diagnose the real problem. I took it to the local dealer and they got my wife all cool. It was not cheap, but they had enough experience with BMW stuff that they found the problem. It's worked great for the past five years.

Jparkr2004: you most likely need to recharge(refill) your refrigerant, it will also most likely need to be converted from R12 to the current R32A refrigerant, the only problem is if you lost your refrigerant you most likely have a leak and need to have a shop track it down...

          Dude!!!

My car gets parked out in the sun for 9 hours straight when I'm at work all day, last thing I want to do when I'm off work is go into an oven...

I tried it last year, no thanks and I don't want to do it again!

            Srsly... swamp-back/swamp-ass is not cool.

Take it to an a/c place and have them put a vacuum on it for like 15-20 min. If it holds pressure, then just fill it with r134... or R12 depending on how deep your pockets are.
