    Alpina 635csi in the U.S.?

Was the 635csi ever offered with alpina options in the U.S.? I saw this for sale the other day and my jaw dropped . The decals and the front apron seem legit. Im not too knowledgeable on the 6 series and its options so did i stumble onto something?

The striping and early ft spoiler on that car leads one to believe its a late 70's B8 ....based on the 633 though not the 635 .

However that car was never offered here in the US as its clearly a Euro model .
Its a Grey market private import as it is or it has had the Alpina pieces and striping added here .

        *update*
ok i called and its not an alpina, but it was imported from germany. he did say it had an M sport package, im not sure if that was offered in the 81? the wheels he said are original alpina, the car however is not. i might take it for a test drive today and get more info.

let us know how it drives, I've never even seen a 635 in person (or remember it)

Ya the car is Euro grey market. Looks like an early E12 chassis car.

Hawk is right, that car is obviously a euro import.

My '81 635CSi Euro had Alpina options including the staggered open lug 16s, full suspension kit ($2600!!), shift knob, and steering wheel. Reportedly the car was ordered this way from a dealer when it was new, so the stuff had been on there since about 1981. Definitely cool to see another one of the early 6ers rocking Alpina stuff!
