I cruise around almost exclusively with my cousin. Not once have I ever heard someone call us gay (at least not to our faces). What they might say behind our backs I don't know, but if they're talking shit they're friends are really good at keeping secrets, because if someone was talking shit about either of us I garauntee they'd be eating the ground.

I don't buy this "you need 3 guys to not look gay" thing, I go out plenty with my best friend, and I highly doubt anybody has ever instinctively thought "oh, there's a gay couple on a date" - maybe, but I really doubt it.
Then again, I don't own a E30 cab, nor would I really want one - maybe they are or were a 'gay magnet' car, but now it's a 20 y.o. car - nothing more since demographically homosexuals are fairly affluent as a whole and like someone else said, are driving E46's & X5's.
You sure you're not just hyper-sensitive to the gay stigma with the car? Not bashing, I might grow a mullet to offset a cab myself, but only if it was worth it - like that black M-tech with Sport Evo cloth interior.
I don't think people really do the whole 'stereotype you by the car you drive' thing as much as they used to, say a decade ago. A car is a car, and some are more custom than others, but it's not as big a deal as it seems like it used to be. It's much more common to do custom stuff these days, it's not just gearheads going for speed, or hicks (I'm one) doing the 4x4 thing anymore - girls and non-motorhead guys all get wheels these days, and some go further.
Look on the bright side, you don't have a yellow Miata, or a VW cabbie. And your car starts most every time you twist the key. Could be a lot worse.
It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

First off the gay comment was definatly because you were in a convertible, not because of the fact its an e30.
My dad has a miata and I have taken it out a few times and ive driven it with another guy in the passenger seat and have definatly gotten a few looks. If they dont know me i dont care what they think, if they do know me then they know im not gay, so no problem there. I dont let this stop me from harassing my dad about his car being girly though, but he dosent let it get to him.
During my nevering ending search for e30s i have came across a gay e30 owner though, he knew his stuff about cars and i respected that, i also dont think there is anything gay about an e30 just because a gay man drives one.
Now convertibles, they are just a little gay. I honestly beleive a gay man is more likely to drive a convertible than a straight man, this does not mean all convertible drivers are gay, some of them are women. Just kidding, yes many straight men drive convertibles. I did see a mitsubitshi eclipse convertible with 3 men in it the other day and even though they didnt appear to be gay, I could not help but think it.

Hard to say. If there are 20 urinals, and 16 and 17 are occupied, that means the second urinator would have had to walk past a whole bank of virginal porcelain waiting to take his urine, but instead chose to sidle up to another man peacefully voiding his bladder. That is bold.
He may prefer to gaze upon meat, but that may not mean he is gay, he just has gay tendencies.
