Bought a new car yesterday

Well I've been going back and forth with this woman for a while, holding out so she'd drop in price.

It's a 1971 datsun 240z. This woman's husband was a state trooper, restored many cars, car models all over the house etc.

he took the car off the road, had an awesome barn for a workstation. did soooo much work to it! new steering rack, new bushings everywhere, new brake and fuel lines, cut out what little rust there was and welded in new metal, cleaned and sprayed things like the control arms etc. and started painting the underbody

unfortunately the guy died of colin cancer. so after a few years, the wife put the car up fpr sale.
it's soo beautiful. just sitting there ready for paint, almost all of the bodywork has been done. he had actually started painting it, all the jams and the trunk are red. I'm gonna paint it blue though

Mine will look pretty much exactly like this one. it'll be 350z blue, will have the same bumpers but they will be body color not chrome, same for the door handles. and no chrome rims. I've already got a momo steering wheel, and I plan on doing the autometer gauges too (you'll find out why in a few months. motor setup in here will be hottt, way faster than the bimmer could have ever been)

Those things are nice cars and will kill stock 325i's. It just the damn rust that's the problem. Rwd with a lsd and a nissan motor that's very stout is a :up: in my book.

WOW Killer car man. That color is awesome, I'd consider trading my E30 for a nice low mileage 240Z but they just don't exist anymore. Has some stylish updates too. Nice score, and just think no one can say nice rice mobile because it's a classic.

lol greg that's not mine, just a good example of a z. mine will be pretty much that color though, with all the same body mods (only body mods he has are the bumpers and the airdam) and I won't have chrome wheels. Actually the body is pretty much ready for paint. most of the bodywork has been done, I just gotta do some work on both doors (i think the doors on my parts Z are still good, so I'll probably hit that up). and my dads friend said he's spray it for me for free! (he owns 2 body shops around here)

I actually already have a couple sets of wheels for the car, and my dad has like 3 setes (he has a few of these cars also). I'm not sure if they'll clear my brakes though. I got brembo 11.5" rotors sitting at home, with all the fixins for the rear disc conversion. and I'm gonna get 4 piston calipers up front, and use 300zx rotors

and nooooo, no 350. has to stay nissan. I was thinking sr20det, but I'm going all out. I can't tell the motor setup cause I know a few local folks from around here browse this board. but I can gaurantee low 11s high 10s right out of the box.

if i had the money to be buying new cars, I wouldn't own the e30

granted I could sell the e30, sell the Z I just got, sell my other Z, and sell my r6 and something.

but then I'd just have 1 car. this way I have a bike, a daily driver, a sports car, etc.

besides i think this is a little more rare and interesting

lol, exactly. mine is that clean though, body is immaculate. so once I do the doors, I'll take it to get it sprayed. mmmmm 350z lemans blue
