$200+ for a fill of R12, if you can find any.

and you'll probably find a lot of info. This topic usually gets beat to death every summer.

My BMW dealer offered to do it for 165 but it ended up having been converted already so they charged 115 even after spending more than 2 hours taking the dash apart to look for a leak that isn't there.

convert to r134a and fill. It's cheaper than filling with r12.

my plan of method is to goto some shop get mine evacuted (suck out every speck of R12) and then goto some auto parts store and buy those R12 coverter kits for about $55 and put it in and see if it works. If not uhhh not good but no biggie either. 8)

guys if you convert do it right, you will have to replace your reciever drier. and flush the ac system to get rid of the mineral oil...and convert to pag 100 or ester 100 oil.....search for it i've had this discussion with ken before.

                        hth :)

Im actually getting this taken care of tomorrow, my AC blows, but not colder than without the AC engaged. A guy at a shop I know is doing a R12 to R134a retrofit and fill for me for about $150. It was 82 out today, and it will be again tomorrow! im glad im getting this done!

here's a pic of the kit (or one like it), I wouldnt want to change all those o-rings myself!

you only need two of those 3 big adapters, two washers, and a few o-rings

How much does the shop you work at charge for a conversion to r134? (in USD)
