Joining the darkside.... I think

Alright, so I think Im going back to the darkside, with the E36. Im gonna get Jordans 93 OBDI 332is. Hes letting it go pretty cheap to me, and I'll be selling my E30. Im just tired of owning cars where I need a new fender (my TI), or I need a new rear valance (My E30). And this thing is completely done, with the only thing to change being the DSIIs. Maybe even eventually trade it for a ballin E30.

Is there any real reason why you guys all hate E36s so much, besides the fact that theyre not E30s? I think if I stick with an E30, I'll always want an E36 too. And if I have the E36, I'll always want another E30. So either way, I'll end up wanting both.

I have no idea why Im posting this besides the fact that its saturday, and Im bored out of my head right now. I guess I just dont wanna regret getting out of the E30 scene again =\

I don't think many of us hate E36s; I own one that I absolutely love. It's just that they feel different and some of us decide we like one or the other. I take the E36 when I'm going to work, on road trips, or doing daily things. The E30 is for spirited driving, having fun, and sunny days at the beach. It just depends on how you want to feel while you're driving.

I love the E36 personally, I think they look great when they are done up nicely, they drive great, and they are nice on the inside.

My hardcore side says that all of these things are bad though... That for some reason the E30 is cooler, in the way that an old 911 is cooler than a new one, just because they are more raw and more pure...

But the practical side of me says that the E36 is great. It's newer than the E30, it's got things the E30 doesn't, and it's NICE to drive on a daily basis.

I'm having the same dilemma with my E28. I love it to death, I think it's a great car and I would love to finish it, but it needs work to be finished, and I already have a restoration project. I'm seriously thinking that if I sell the E28 it will be replaced with an E36 or E34 (leaning toward E34).

I don't blame you at all. E30s are at the age now that although they can be daily driven and fairly practical, I think they are better suited for being a second or third "hobby" car, just like my E28.

For the cash im paying for the car, I co uldnt fix up my E30 as nice as it is. (Its Jordans 332is on BF.C). Its already lowered, engine swapped, tons of mods, new paint, nice interior. I mean theres nothing left for me to do besides add little changes like the wheels, clears around, HIDs, etc.

Its just gonna suck wanting an E30 again, because I know thats what will happen lol.

Im trying to keep the E30 I think. I just dont see what good Im gonna do with the $2k. PRolly blow it on an HDTV and a PS3. Might as well keep the E30 around, and not drive the E36 every day.

Funny how you say the interior looks cheesy. Thats the one advantage they have over an E30 to me lol. Maybe E36s are getting cooler since theyre almost getting retro like the E30, but definitely not as much. I mean they were just the old models when the E46 came out. Now the E90-92s are out, it seems like the people who have them, have an interest in the E36.

I like the more squared-off look of the E30 and the E34. Also, early E36's have interior quality issues. It also takes a bot of money to make an E36 unique and good looking, and most do it through the M3 kit. IMHO the E30 already looks good, it just needs rims (if you have bottlecaps) and a drop. Prices aren't really all that different. I bought my E30 as my first car because it is simple, more or less bulletproof, is great for DIYers, and is a hoot to drive. E36's just seem too rounded, soft, and , well, bland, in stock form. Eventually, I'm planning on picking up an E36 M3, which I love.

True. I think Im gonna skip it lol. Why not spend the $2500 on my car and make it sick, and have $3500 left for something else. Like a new HD TV, PS3 I just bought, maybe a new computer. I dunno. Im not really big into cars, just our BMWs to be honest. So I guess Id have a better way to spend the cash.
