Where to buy steering rack...

I'm looking to replace my steering rack as it's like like a bitch...

I've heard that depending on year one e36 rack has extra bushings and others do not. Is this true? Which one would work better on a 89 325i?

I want to go with the e36 rack preferably the 95 m3 (only because of recent research) ...where did you guys buy them?

I don't want to have to pay a core charge either! Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Also, while I'm replacing the rack is there anything else I should look into replacing?

bavarian auto recyclers, i bought mine for $85 shipped, but it was the stock e30 rack. i am sure you can find something comperable.

You're going to be sorry sooner rather than later if you buy a used rack like that. BMA has decent prices on them. Not sure if you'll find anywhere that doesn't want a core, though...

I got an autozone rack, so far I am pleased. Make sure you get new crush washers with whatever you buy!

Also, you could just lie to them and tell them your core is an e36 rack, they wouldn't know the difference. Not that I've done that before or anything, just something I've heard ;)
