    Got a new windshield....

One thing that drove me crazy was all the pitting the OEM window had. I've always heard that the OEM windshields were softer, hence the pitting.

I decided to go with a PPG - Looks great, best of all it was $140 installed. I would post pics, but it's so smooth and clear, no one would notice.

I was hoping to be able to keep the original window to give it away, but a 17 year old window really wants to stay in place...and it cracked..:(

Looking for my next E30. Have one? Call or text me (805) 340-3284 or email me at: dclrod@gmail.com

It is nice to have a new windshield. I replaced mine awhile back with a PPG one. It cost me $114, but i installed it.

My car really needs one. I saved one that had to be no more than a year old from a parts car so hopefully I'll put it in soon.

how can i make sure that the windshield replacement company uses a PPG window? and what makes a PPG windshield better than another?

I just got an online quote from Safelite AutoGlass and it came to $238. That sucks.

Call them up and ask them if they use PPG windshields and if they do, indicate that this would be your preference.

thread from the dead. where did you guys get windshields put in for $140?? Just got a huge crack in mine and need a replacement.
Any advice other than just take it to an autoglass shop?

Just try to find the best auto glass shop around you, and try to find one that will work with your deductible.

I need a new one, too. Mine has 3 or 4 little chips that are turning into small spider cracks.

I bet i have the most pitted windshield on this board!

mine is the OE windshield from 1989! i still have the engine brake in instructions on the upper left corner of the windscreen.

i've heard of a company in england that makes heated ones. I want one of those, otherwise it would have been replaced long ago

Lol, I need a new one badly as well. Can't see shit driving into the sun.

How do you get that cheap? Everyone around me wants $300, but that's with rubber seal and trim.

i replaced my OE pitted to hell one 2 years ago, but its a china windshield. no distortion, but its pitting really easily. probably replace it again in a couple years with an OE one.

Is PPG the factory windshield? If not, does anyone know if the factory ones (the Sekurit/Sicursiv ones) are still available from the dealer?

I remember a while back, Jordan was die-hard about getting an OEM windshield, I think he kept having to go back and forth with the dealer because they kept getting him an aftermarket one. I don't remember if he actually ended up getting the OEM one or not.
