Purdue BMW Club Show (56k, it's not that interesting anyway)

The BMW club had it's bi-annual show on Wednesday, Mine was the only E30 there and it was largely ignored. We had beautiful weather and the local dealership loaned us an E46 M3 and an E39 M5. The red civic is owned by a BMW enthusiast that doesn't have a BMW.

I got to park next to the ultra-nice 750iL

Here's a picture of somebody taking a picture of my car! I couldn't believe it. It would mean more if she (EDIT:seemed to know what she was taking photos of)

It's good to see a BMW club up at Purdue  I'll join and so should Matt. Only thing is, we won't have cars Freshmen year, oh well.

Dude, you should have gotten her digits and taken her for a spin. 8)

The thing is, I think the foreign chick didn't recognize quality, she was just taking pictures of everything.

Bill, the club just got restarted so nothing has happened yet. We went for a club drive at the beginning of the year before the club got lost because the people running it didn't fill out the proper paperwork. The guy running the club now has big plans for the club; he plans to have tech days, auto crosses, club drives, BBQ's he was planning on renting a movie theater in Indianapolis to watch the new Mischief movie but I don't know what ever happened with that. He also wants to join up with the Hoosier chapter BMW CCA for some events but they have already snubbed us once.

Hopefully things will get into full swing. I should have a lot more in common with Purdue members than Hoosier ones, not that they aren't good folks though. Kept the Indy and Chicago R3V members informed. I'd come up there for some CCA events, like I did Thursday for some other functions.....not that long of a drive at all.

I need to start a BMW club up at my school last wednesday after slling my books back I saw a sweet black on black m-tech 2 pull in to the teacher parking lot. There probally 3 e30's on campus and nice Black 535is I park in front of sometimes. plus a z3 a poor ragged on m-coupe with Dirt paint, and brake dust completly coating the rims(lady driver). plus some E36 and a Teacher who has an 89 735i that I ussualy wave to when she pulls into the parking lot.

The 750 isn't a student car, it's owned by a 42 year old guy who lives near Purdue, the M5 and e46 M3 are the dealership's. Everything else is student cars, there was also a '98 e39 that I didn't get a photo of.

So there are like 5 member?

You should open it up to all makes and make it a motorsports club (not a car club). It's cool to see how many 'real' enthusiasts can go to one school.

There's more than 5, not everybody in the club came out for the show. There is already a performance car club here but it's a bunch of ricers and Camaros. Heh, performance  There are a ton of nice BMW's around the school but he club doesn't do the best job of advertising, I'm working on getting the word out more effectively.
