    My new computer stereo

I finally got my warranty check for my blown JVC stereo, so today I went shopping for new gear. I had already planned what I wanted while waiting for my check.

KLH 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Receiver

    500 watts of total output: 100W x 5 @ 8 ohms, 1kHz, less than 1% THD
Built-in Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic decoding
6 DSP modes: Concert, Theatre, Church, Arena, Stadium, Club
Digital AM/FM tuner with 30 station presets
2 digital audio inputs (1 optical, 1 coaxial)
    3 S-video, 4 A/V and 3 stereo audio inputs
1 S-video, 2 composite video and 2 stereo audio outputs
    Bass/treble control
    Headphone jack and speaker-on/off control

    KLH 8in 3-way shelf speakers

    8" molded-polypropylene cone woofer
    5-1/4" dynamic fiber-cone midrange driver
    5/8" polycarbonate dome tweeter

Overkill for my computer? I think not

Are the speakers big enough, you might blow out the whole house.

Yeah, It's about time to get another Dell. This one is about a year old (2GHz P4, 512MB RAM, GeForce 4 Ti4200) and its not really fast enough for me anymore.

Yeah, the speakers are perfectly sized. The one on the right fits into that shelf space PERFECTLY. I mean its so tight you cant fit a sheet of paper in there beside it... no joke.

They make my 19" Hitachi look small. I should get a new 21" black case monitor anyways :)

I've been wanting to build a set of these for my computer stereo and power them off a simple Onkyo stereo reciever or a NAD integrated amp:

That's a sweet looking stereo system for your computer.
I'm not really big on computer stereo's because my computer sucks...but the system in my room.....
            Phillips Reciever
2 Philips 3 in 1 speakers consisting of a 6" midrange, 7" WooX woofer, and 5/8" tweater each.
Then 2 Technic 3 in 1 speakers that consist of a 10" woofer, 8" midrange, 2" tweater each.
It pushes so much bass I had to rig up a type of cushon under my cd changer so my cd's don't rattle loose in the changer. :D
