    Who wakeboards here?

Since TJ started his cool skimboarding thread the other day i thought I would show some pictures of me wakeboarding. BTW TJ I went skimming today and it's very hard.

This wasn't behind a wakeboard boat so that is as much air as i could get...

comments welcome on my crappy wakeboarding skills

Your skills are better than mine. But I've only been a few times. I got up on my second try though. I think it comes easier to those who have done a 'board-sport' for a while. I've been snowboarding for 8 years or so, and it's very similar to boarding in powder.

      ooo oo me!

Not too bad for a non dedicated boat. Altough i can't talk, we wakeboard behind a Jetboat powered by a Chev LS1

I agreee with Ken on the boarding in powder comment

What board are you running? I've got a Hyperlite Byerly.

wakeboarding is similar, but definitely different the first few times gettin up, compared to surfing, snowboarding or skating. ive done em all at some point, but surfings def my strongest one. snowboardings sick just its too much of a drive and commitment so i only wind up going 2 times a winter usually as surfing is almost every other day in the summer. only go out on rare occasions with the waters in the low 40's  in the winter on LI.

ya thats behind a Cararra Jetboat powered by a Chevy 454, old school shit. The board i was riding is my buddy's Hyperlite Primier 135 with Byerly Bindings. The board was alright, alittle too small for my tastes but the binding were great. They are the ones that use cables up your ankle to tighten up. Personally i have a Hyperlite Project 142 (Honeycomb) with crappy moonboot bindings.

I ride, but it's all my friends equipment :P I'm not very good, just learning to land jumps. I can't wait til it gets warm enough here to ride, should be a good year (they are getting a tower, finally)

Yea man!! etasport checking in.. I live a mile away from the local boat ramp, and about 4-5 miles of river section. I've been boading for 3 years and skiing for over 4. I tandom ski, slalom, kneeboard, wakeboard, and my new thrill, barefoot ski.

For now I've got an O'brien Rail 137 with decent morph bindings. We have a 23' Supra Pirata with a tower (454 power too) which empty throws a pretty tall wake but since its a ski-boat its not as steep and doesnt really pop you up. My friend who got me into it has a 19 foot malibu skier (with a killer sound system) he fills up with about 2k pounds of water and once you hit the wake your looking down counting the seconds til you land. I can hit the wake jump, pull some ollie 180s but I have a hard time riding switch. Since im a skier its just not natural for me to ride left foot forward. Too bad your pretty much on the other side of the country or we could hook up..

I'm mostly a river rat. Either Blythe or Yuma on the Colorado river. My all time favorite lake is Lake Powell though, so sweet

Eta: Where you guys go out at, the Potomac? I've skied in there a few times, but i prefer down here on the shore where there isn't all the junk floating down the river.
