ive done headliners but not an e30. but a headliners a headliner. what do you want to know? the windshields have to come out. get some contact cement and a shitload of clips. everyone says its hard but once the glass is out its cake. just take your time. clip it into place first and get it exactly where you want it. then start gluing the edges rear to front

all the interior trim pieces that touch the roof overlap the seams, including the door rubber moldings. Open your sunroof and take a looksy. Something made easier by removing your seats to get at all the places you need to go. Removing the glass complicates things. It's a major project.

RobS made me a suede headliner for me a couple years ago. It's still sitting in a bag since I'm daunted by the task.

If you just have some scuffs on your headliner, search for mr. anderson's tip on using a magic eraser.

Does it have a sunroof ? I'm in NY just did my 318is w/o sunroof.. .Came out great -- EZ just takes time..The windows are the ez part. Stretching it and clamping it take some time. Then you need 3m trim adhesive contact cement.. Good stuff I stretched, got the panels right ,wrinkles out and clipped it in place, Then I trimmed fabric ends, applied 3m adhesive to metal and fabric edges,,waited for it to get tacky, add another thin layer to one surface of adhesive and made contact..It's not a rush job for sure.
