How heavy is a bare m20 block

Picking up an e bottom end that is disassembled tonight. Can one ot two people lift it into the trunk of an e30?

I have to drive it straight to the storage unit so the gf doesn't catch wind of what I'm up to...

Will I be able to lift he bare block out of the trunk by myself?

Thanks & sorry about the drunk posts from Milwaukee last night

I'm going to guess no. The 2002 block is damn heave enough. The hardest part is setting it down gently without breaking all your fingers.

      Pat...

I'm dissapointed! I don't have any trouble moving around m10 blocks - when was the last time you were at the gym?

Haha - all my strength is in my legs admittadley. In my defense last time i moved an 02 engine it was a shortblock.

It should be around 100 lbs. I weighed a S50 bare block with timing cover and it was around 106 lbs.

Thanks guys... I'll let you know how badly I screw myself up...

If I'm drunk posting later on tonight that means I screwed up myself or my car somehow in this debocle

make sure you strap it in tight.

or you could have a nice sized outwards dent on your rear quarterpanel....

LOL. I had a head and other parts in the back of my e30 once and forgot about them, got a nice little ding now behind the lic. plate cover ... the 318 bottom end isn't too bad, but much easier with two guys especially lifting out of the trunk...

Maybe remove the spare tire, put an empty tire in there and put the block in the dead center ?

I lifted a bare e block form the floor to a table. Wouldn't suggest running a marathon with it, but it wasn't bad at all.

If you do not think you can lift it just get your gf to help ya !! hehe lol should not be too bad for a quick lift and sit down but wouldn't want to go much more than that
