m20s are worth $100 tops... sorry but why would any one want an m20 when an m50 is the same price.
    The 96 to 99 M3 motors are designated USS52B32 or S52B32US I forget...

Also what sort of hippie crack are you smoking to say that an M20 is worth $100? The M20 is an awesome motor, and the costs are NOT the same. I challenge you to find ANY PERSON that has spent less than $1000 on their DOHC swap.

And to take THAT further, why WOULD anyone swap their M20 for an M50? seems pointless and a waste of money to go through that expense and effort for 15hp.

If I had an M20 and it blew I would go with M50 since it also bolts to the m20 tranny. Extra hp is just a bonus, you get A DOHC engine, quiter, more reliable and with more aftermarket available than m20. Sounds like a winner to me.

        just my 2 cents.

For its time the M20 is quite a good motor. It wasn't top-of-the line S38/S14 pattern, it wasn't designed for that yet.

It's not that difficult for the most part to work on...^.^ excepting some things, it's not that bad. A M20 mill is nice if you like originality. Still it's aged technology.

hhmmmm, lets see, M50a has a forged crank, can make alot more power, DOHC...
It takes ALOT of work to get an M20 to have alot of power.

                I disagree.
It takes the same amount of work to make both motors have any power at all.

You cant compare an M20 to an S52 either, that is cheating. Lets keep everything comparable solely to displacement.

you can simply bolt a turbo/SC onto an M50a, internals are strong enough...good luck doing that on an M20...Lots of bolt ons for M50s, uhhh, not so much for M20s...You are very wrong, so "Ted, just admit it";)

Supercharging an M50 is pointless, because that is more expensive than an S52obd1 but is the same power.

                      M20's handle FI well...
