And while it's technically not approved by the manufacturers, the reason is that it isn't API approved but that's because it contains extra protection for the valvetrain and the chemicals supposedly harm the catalytic converters (sulphur I believe). However, I know people with 100k++ on the XPR oil on the original cat, so it's all bullshit. The gov't is making our oils protect our engines worse for bullshit environmental reasons.

There's no oil I hate, as long as the user changes it every 5000 kms.

I run Valvoline "Racing" or Castrol GTX 20w50 in my bimmers and Mobile 1 10w30 in my mom's yota.

Mobil or BMW dealer 5w30 sythetic... It's what we have around the shop besides Mobil 20w50 (non-synth).

Just switched to it recently... seems fine so far and Uncle says his car runs cooler apprently, and does't munch or leak oil at all.

i run Shell Rotella T 15w/40 or Catstrol GTX 15w/40. i use the same weight all year round cuz im in texas and the teperature differences arent that great. plus it could be colder 1 day and hot as hell the next. there are no seasons here just completely random weather.
