    Need some door/lock help----badly.

So - the door on my 90 has been replaced with one from an earlier model. The window works - but the switch is backwards - but i cant get the damn lock to work.

Q1 - Can I swap in later model window internals?
Q2 - Is the window glass different?

    On to lock problems....

I replaced the tumbler. It should work - in theory - but in order to get it to lock/unlock - it needs to travel far enough to apply pressure to whatever mechanism is inside. In order for that to happen - the lock has to spin beyond it's mechanical limits. I hope you guys follow...

    Q3 - How do I fix?
Q4 - Anyone have ALL of the late model internals to sell me? I'd rather swap it all if i can.

Q1 - Can I swap in later model window internals? Yes

Q2 - Is the window glass different? Yes, so is the regulator. Early cars have worm type, later cars have X type.

Q3 - How do I fix? The micro switch is on a flimsy bracket usually you can just bend it back to where it will get hit by the tumbler.

It doesnt seem like the micro switch works every time. I ordered a new central locking computer - hopefully that will do the trick. Also, What i was referring to is what the arm on the lock assembly physically moves - or does that not matter?

EDIT - I also have the correct regulator and motor. I guess i need to see what other parts I need to do the swap.

You'll aslo need the late model glass for it to work right .

Or you can remove the slide rails from the glass and reposition them , but thats a nightmare and they will eventually fail .
