I have a chance to get a euro m20, to replace my eta. i just wanna know what the differences are in the euro engine/tranny compared to US spec. All i know is that is has a higher c/r making 171 ponies

Cam has slightly higher profiles and CR is a few points higher. Depending on the year, there were cat free models. MY87 had the highest hp/tq and compression ratio due to Cat converters came in 88 and up.
Transmission are various. If you had a Sport model they had lower ratios in 1st and 2nd but all the other gears were identical. There was also the one piece Dogleg transmission. Rear end ratios, many vs our predominantly one 3.73. They had 3.46 3.64 3.73 3.91 and 4.10 4.27 ratios depends on what you wanted to order.
