i paid 2 grand less than that for my '89 is.

not having mileage listed, and the fact that the "325" is oddly spaced from the "is", worries me further.

oh, yeah. Forgot to mention that, I noticed that too. Have it checked, that's all I'd say. Specially if he sounds pretty set on that price.

i just got off the phone with the guy. heres what he said:
he races a 325is(not this one) professionally and bought this one from a friend a year ago so that he would have a road car that felt like his race car. his friend owned it for a year and a half before that and is the one that did all the upgrades(about 3 grand). he bought it from his friend for what hes asking now(5800). the car has 154k miles on it and has a few small dings and scratches(the normal for a 17 year old car). his friend replaced the head on because something was leaking. all the upgrades were done in preparation for BMW driving school which his friend never went to. it has never been in a accident and he has all the records from his friend up to now. the oil has always been changed by him and his friend using mobil 1 synthetic. the interior is worn on the bolster like most is interiors. he says it drives like a champ. he also said it has a slight smoker smell, but he said you rarely smell it.
              tell me what ya think.

              thanks

Still not worth $5800. Offer him $4000.

Dunno abotu Washington but in Kansas that is priced too high. Dont pay for mods, they are never worth anything. Dinan springs are definately not worth what he paid for them and I wouldnt consider a new head as a mod, I would consider it an indicator that the car had a problem.

I wouldnt doubt its a 325is, with painted mirrors and dual exhaust... ... wait, I have painted mirrors and dual exhaust. Yeah. Look at his intake that would, oh wait, I have that too. Guess you are screwed on that part. :P

If he could come down in price I think it would be a great car from the exterior pictures. It is afterall the best color that BMW ever made.
                  Im now E30less.

smoker smell, not that the car is smoking.

Upgrades like those arent worth very much. it doesnt make the car any better as a whole, and doesnt make it unique at all...

                            my e30 is a 87 325iS :) but quite the different beast.

go take a look, and make an offer between 3.5-4 grand depending on what you see. it definately is not worth more than 5 grand, if even more than 4.5 grand.

                              Definately a pretty car nonetheless.
