New Cat?

my 535im (m30) is making a sound (an exhaust leak sound) around the exhaust manifold to the catylic converter.

would that mean that i need a new cat, because this one is clogged or something? or is this an exhaust gasket that connects piping to the cat that needs to be replaced?

gasket first and if you bang on the cat and it sounds like there are marbles in it then cat also
