I only paid $700 for my e30 with 137,000 miles, a straight body, and it runs.

You guys can be such vaginas when it comes to body work. You'll spend thousands fixing mechanical problems on your car, why not just call it totalled?

      That car needs....
      Fender, used about $50
the bumper looks like the bracket on the side is just broken and it needs some trim and a turn lens, used maybe $20
Headlight needs a lens and grill $45
any body shop could fix that hood and spot paint it, paint the fender $200, or learn how to paint and do it yourself.

That car could be fixed for about $350, and it will be in the exact same shape my e30 was when I bought it, with less miles.

$1300 for that car would be a good deal here.

Ok I give, where are you getting a fender that is mint, in the same color for $50 shipped - hell let me know I need one?

Bumper is done, so is the entire front.... Replace is quicker in man hours then repair.

            Headlight need a "lens" - try $100...

"spot paint" - not unless you have a Bud that would do it. Otherwise $300.

In theory, Yea you could fix that car for $10....

Only if all the stars aligned, you had a friends that LOVES to work for free, and you had a set of fog lamps on hand...

BTW, if that car was 100 miles from me and It was for sale at $1000, I'd pass on it, If it was 100 miles and at $300, I'd pick it up and part it over a weekend - So, it's not a pissing contest...calm down - you're starting to upset me.

And - well - I trust an appraisers like I trust sitting on the shitter of a airport bathroom...lots of ass gaskets - no good results

An appraiser's entire point of living is to low ball you - and a 10 hour course to "pass a test" means nothing in your "industry"...

You are the meter maid of the insurance world...

            ...

            Hope that helps someone...

The thing I see that might be hard to find is the bumper. But fenders are easy to come by in junkyards. My bro needed one. We found a minty fresh zinno fender. $45.00 from the local pick n pull.

Nice. Insult a person you don't even know. The internet needs more people like you hiding behind a keyboard. Very classy.

1300 sounds nice if it's in really good running condition. You can find a lot of the parts you need at a salvage yard(or R3v). Really it would probably be no more than 500 to get all the parts/repairs u need including paint.

Then you would be walking away with a 1800 dollar, 115k mi, late model e30.
