new member quick question about Convertible

I just sold my e30 M3 and now I am looking for a 92 325i convertible. I have seen a couple of conv. with head rest on the rear seats. My question is: Did they make any specific 325ic with headrest or is this a kit sold for these cars.?. I like the way they look.. I found this pic looking around and that convertible looks good. Not mine !! but I wish to be able to get it as close as that one...
    Thanks,

That is a nice lookin vert. Those headrests come as a kit as an option for BMW. They come with the brackets, headrests and little grommets, but All BMW rear seats are equipped to handle the rear seat headrest brackets.

I wouldn't suggest buying those parts direct though. Go tho the pick and pull and search them out. I paid 8 bucks for my set up.

        thank you...

Now I need to find if a local bmw dealer carry those brackets, etc or If somebody has the info where I can get it... At the moment, there is a '92 325ic that is for sale and it is in good condition. I will go this weekend to see it and I will take some pic's.
        Thanks,

But Are these brackets one size fits all ?? There are not too many pick and pull down here in florida.

Yes, they are 1 size fits all.

It's a very direct bolt on actually, just need to make holes in the upper leather of the seats for the brackets to go through. But you will eventually fill those holes with the grommets that normally come on the headrest assemblies of the front seats of E30's.

If you look at my signature, you may be able to see the rear headrests in my car. It's the same for convertibles and very easy to install.

You can find them on EBAY at times as well. People usually sell the whole kit and sometimes you can even find the color you need. They usually do not go for huge money and should be able to find them for less than a $100 on ebay

It's cool to have them since they're not too common, but I'm not sure if I like them on a 'vert so much... it kind of looks cleaner w/o them IMO. Besides, I'll never ride in the back so who cares about whiplash :)

PM me if you're looking to buy a rear headrest kit. I sell the brackets and headrests.

Recent auction I did very well on: ebay auction 170130034856

I like the look of my rear headrests 'cause almost nobody else with an e30 has them. They somehow make the car look bigger when the windcreen is out and top is down, makes you notice the whole rear seat or something.

I bought the brackets and gromets from the stealership (not much money really) and bought the headrests off ebay. Had the upoholstery shop throw them in when I had the center rear leather repaired, super easy and they didn't charge me any extra, they thought they were cool, too.

I DO HAVE ONE REGRET: You have to keep them tilted all the way forward and trow a towel over them when putting the top up or down (can't be so spontaneous with top up or down), if you don't you'll get 4 bad vertical scratches in the plastic rear window from the plastic piping on the edges of the headrests. I didn't care with the old top/window, but now am supper careful with new top & window.
