    Window switch question??

I think I need to replace the switch for my right rear window, it's geting to be a pain in the ass. I have to vary how hard and deep I press it, wiggle my finger on it, etc.. to get it to work.

The question: are they supposed to be illuminated when headlights are on? and how much do you think the stealership would want for 'em? I think I should just replace all 4 while I'm at it.

Yes - they should illuminate, buy them used off eBay or somebody here, and replace by removing the shift boot and reaching in from underneath - push up. Pull out, unplug. Installation is reverse of removal!

wow, they are 42 dolla (a piece) at autohaus so i would imagine that the dealer would want more.

I would buy them used or slip em in my pocket at the junkyard.

I can probably get them for you for cheaper, but if you haven't already, call Inter Auto Parts. If all else fails, I think Ben might even have a few laying around his garage.

Good price, even if only 2-3 work...

every e30 i own i just take apart the switch and sand down the conections inside. Its really easy to take apart and they work like new.

Are the light bulbs replaceable? I'm sure the lights have been out for years now, but since I'm going through the trouble of screwing around with the switches, it would be cool to get them to light up again.
