Eta trans will work in an "i" but an "i" trans will NOT work in an Eta .
If you are trying to buy the whole drivetrain from an Eta to swap into an "i' then it can work .
You'll might have to replace the center support bearing depending on what year both cars are .
You'll also want to source a lighter single mass "i" flywheel .
The Eta stuff will work but you'll be giving up acceleration and throttle response .
If the Eta is an earlier model then it will also have the less disireable metal shift console .
wait so... is the trans. out of the 87 325e the same same trans. I would get out of say a 325i or 325is? Its the getrag 260 right? I have an 88 325i vert. He is selling me all of the parts i need. I was just going to buy a new clutch and lightweight flywheel. I plan on doing upgrades to the motor in the future so i want to make sure I'm not buying a lesser transmission. Thanks guys,
