here is a general question for you...using brakes

Why do they say to not pump the brakes with or without ABS? (im not sure which it is) but i finally put new ABS sensors back in the car after 9 months of no ABS. I would push the brakes really quick and then again and the pedal feel felt a lot harder (almost as much as ABS) than if i just pushed it once. Brakes and suspension is not my "thing", i know more about engines than this, so just looking to increase my knowledge :P by the way, is there any more risk of sliding the car in the rain under normal driving with stiffer suspension like coilovers, big sway bars, normal limited slip? are you supposed to soften the suspension up during rain? We never see snow here FWIW thanks!

pump on non abs,

abs does the pumping for you. you can emergency stop with abs by flooring it, it will pulse the brakes for you (assuming it's in working order)

A softer suspension is better in wet conditions.

under normal driving conditions on the street, you will only slide your car if you're driving like a tool, stabbing the accelerator/brake etc.

Snow on the other hand, well, you sometimes can't help but slide, thanks LSD!

Pumping an ABS system can "confuse" it causing it to improperly calculate the vehicle speed.
