That's like asking "does that E30 M3 absolutely need those DTM tips?"

Its style, and its the style that a lot of japanese tuners use. Having a round muffler doesnt make it rice, besides, there's a good chance the piping is close to the tip size...
Rob, I think it looks good with that exhaust.

I think a straight pipe sticking out in front of the rear wheel looks the best, but that style exhaust is most definately fitting on japanese supercars.

R34 GT-S then? That's cool, I think I would almost rather have the RWD model.

Like rob said the piping is probably close to the tip diameter. Look at all the high horsepower supras, they NEED to flow that much air with all the power they are making. The skylines are no exception. By the way, they sound absolutely sick in real life, not like the typical ricer with a "fart can".

actually, you wouldnt want that. youd rather have the gt-r with i-awd, that way you can transfer the power to either 2wd or awd :)

fart can = a coffee-can-like muffler that emits coffee-can/fart sounds, HAHA.

now if the exhaust is round like that, it might not necessarily sound farty, like the Turbo Supra I heard on the track... it sounded tits.

If i had a nickel for everytime i've seen that damn exhaust (or VERY similar) around town on a honda 4-banger I could buy.... i dunno, a lot of other crap.
