Am I supposed to hear a sound if I leave the lights on?

Must be getting old, but I've left the lights on so many times and didnt even realize it till the morning. I guess because the garage is so bright, that I dont even think about it.

Anyhow, should I be hearing a buzz or a ding??????

e36's have that option, but my e30 never has made a noise when I have left the lights on....

I have buzzers on my 2 e30's. Being a lame ass commuter into NYC everyday, sometimes I am late and rush for the train. When I get home late at night I got the dead batt. So I found some on flea bay...Saves my lame ass in the winter for sure...One works via ground interrupt as George Graves knows too well. It was tricky finding a path to ground with headlights on and ignition off. I found it on the OBC harness. Notice when you turn on your headlights one of the bulbs goes off to the OBC so it's not to bright at night time.. That worked as a via ground source path.

what the e30 really needs is lights that automatically turn off when you turn the car off/pull the key out of the ignition... like my old volvo :D I can't imagine that would be too terribly hard to do? would it? :D

my e30 didnt come with any sound,,, now the only sound I hear is in my head to always look back when I leave my car after replacing a couple of batteries.....
