    The greatest maintenance book ever?

    Just might be:

    http://www.amazon.com/Performance-Pr...7078939&sr=1-1

Saw it at Barnes and Noble tonight. I was VERY impressed. For maintenance items (like replacing the flex disk, or timing belt, or transmission mounts, etc.), I would recommend this over a Bentley. It had everything from changing your steering wheel to changing out your CAB. Very helpful with lots of pictures.

I have one of thoes books and I agree. It is very well writen, listing how much projects will cost and how hard they are. The only thing is that most of the stuff is for e36 cars. Still, a good buy.

Ehh, it's ok. I wouldn't say that it's better than the Bentley...

Well, for easier stuff like replacing bushing and stuff, I think it did a better job explaining how to do it. The Bentley is great for really technical stuff, but sometimes it's a bit much for simple tasks.

I run a shop and for any technical related work on my e30 or the s52 going in I use the bentleys (have both e36-e30), but the 101 book is good for quick overviews. I see it as a Cliff's Notes of the bentleys.

BTW the 24v guys might really like the cam install chapter for the m/s 50/52 engines in the 101 projects.

yeah, that is a great book. i picked it up a couple weeks ago. if you go to the link at the top of the project it will take you to a site that has more details on that particular project and also a listing of all the parts you need and where you can buy them online.

pelicanparts.com also has tons of diy write ups related to the book. they were originally going to include a cdrom with lots more pictures for the articles in the book but decided to just put them on the web.

They compliment each other well imo.

A lot of it is for both cars, though. I checked it out tonight at B&N, definitely a cool book. Great walk throughs and GOOD PICTURES.

Pictures help because I don't know what most parts are. I wish it was mostly E30 but so much of the stuff is similar enough to make it helpful for owners of either car. But if I only had room for one, it would be the Bentley.
